Mag-num-netix

I'm on limited time today, so detailed nail art is off the table.  But I wanted something that wouldn't look like a swatch mani.  So I decided to try one of my new China Glaze Magnetix polishes, Cling On.

Overall, I'm fairly satisfied with this polish.  It was an easy application, and I really like how the China Glaze magnet has three different designs, unlike most polish magnets on the market.

The stripe magnet works like a dream.  In fact, the magnet is so strong, that I literally had a few small drops of polish literally jump off of my nail, and onto the magnet.  This turned out to be more funny than maddening, because it didn't tamper with the finish at all!

The star magnet left a little to be desired.  It looked amazing as soon as I removed the magnet, but then it did start to drift a bit.

I used the arrow magnet on my thumb, but I forgot to get a picture!  Sorry!!!  But I adore that design!  The finish really reminded me of tiger stripes!

I started off with one normal coat of Cling On, followed by one slightly thicker coat.  After the second coat, I immediately placed the magnet over my nail.  I let the magnet sit over my nail for about 30 seconds at a time.

I'd love to see a magnetic polish that is a bit lighter in color!  Don't get me wrong, I love my dark shades, but it would be nice to see something a little lighter and brighter.  That's all for now ladies!

Happy Painting!

  2. I was playing with these yesterday and the same thing was happening to me. I could see the polish rise up into a tiny hill and then a drop would break free and jump up to the magnet. It was pretty amusing to watch, lol.

  4. I love this colour. Your design seems to be so strong and crisp compared to other reviews/swatches I've seen. Hmm. I want to try these but the magnetic polishes don't excite me as much as I thought they would.

  5. I finally found these in my town - I really like how CG sells the polish and magnets seperately so you do not end up paying $15 a bottle. I need to get some - your nails look great!

  7. I saw a lot of people have trouble with the china glaze magnets, so I went for the icing magnetix instead..but wow! they really pop on you! I love how the stripes are closer set than other magnets - or at least thats how it looks in the photos, haha
