Hi everyone! Sorry for my slight absence lately. I did this mani this evening in tribute of my husband's mother. She passed away early this morning. Her favorite color was purple, and she loved butterflies.
I started off with two coats of Sally Hansen Whisper, a very pale purple shimmer.
Since it is such a pale color, I would normally use three or four coats to eliminate the VNL, but the next step takes care of that. This was actually the color I used to do my mother-in-law's nails while she was asleep in her hospital room.
Using a very porous sponge, I dabbed on Essence A Lovely Secret, a medium purple shimmer, for a gradient effect.
I then used a striping polish, Kiss Black, to create the lines to form the butterfly wing appearance.
Next, I used my small and medium sized dotting tools with Kiss White to create the Monarch style spots. I finished with one coat of SV.
I hope you all enjoy this mani. I know this is one that my mother-in-law would have loved.
Happy Painting!
I like how this nail art turned out. You drew the butterflies so neat. Can't wait until I can do neat designs like that
