Hi everyone!! Today I had a major dilemma. How can you bring yourself to put nail art over a drop dead gorgeous polish?!
I started off with three coats of KBShimmer Witch Way, a glossy smokey purple jelly, loaded with holographic mini and micro hexes and dust. I mean, come on ... just look at that!?
The formula had a little bit of irony mixed in. The polish itself is a tad on the thick side, but applies rather thin. It was a little amusing to witness, but was still very easy to work with.
So what's a nail art addict to do? How can I bring myself to cover it up?
Here's what I came up with!
I used my large dotting tool with Essie Nothing Else Metals, a soft purple metallic, and placed several dots down the length of my nails.
Next, to add a pop color, I used my small dotting tool with China Glaze DV8, a holographic teal, to create the rosette outlines.
It was still missing the depth I was after, so I used my tiny dotting tool with Kiss Black to add some small internal dots and splotches within the rosette outlines. I finished with one coat of SV.
This was a lot of fun to agonize over, and try to find a solution for! Now I have my nail art, and I can still admire the absolute beauty of my base color!
I hope you all enjoy!
