In Honor Of

Hi everyone.  Today I thought I would create my white mani in honor of those affected by the Sandy Hook tragedy.

I started off with two coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, a white creme with very subtle grey undertones.  I followed with one coat of SV.

I then added one coat of Black Cat Lacquer Let Them Eat Cake, a clear coat loaded with pale blue, pink, and green satin hexes, silver holographic mini hexes, and matte white micro hexes.  It went on very easily and the glitter applied smoothly.  I left out my ring finger for a slight accent.  I followed again with one coat of SV.

On my ring finger, I applied some gold gelquins in the form of a half moon halo, and applied one final coat of SV.

This is the first mani I have done since my decision to cut off all of my nails.  I guess it's going to take some getting used to.

I know I usually say that I enjoyed creating this, but it's really not very fitting to me right now.

But I do hope you enjoyed seeing my mani to honor all of those educators and children.

Colors: OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, Black Cat Lacquer Let Them Eat Cake

  1. Your nails look gorgeous at any length, and I think this mani is perfect to honor the fallen. Great work.

  2. This is just beautiful, and I think your nails look fantastic at this length.

  3. I know you are used to them being long, but they look great like this too! Your mani is beautiful!

  4. I've not been able to feel "right" since Friday. My babies start school in Sept and I don't know how I can act like I'm not scared (out of my mind) to send them :( This is beautiful and made me tear up seeing the soft colors, I could imagine the little ones playing...

  5. Beautiful mani and your nails look great!!!

  6. These are adorable! I love that Black Cat Lacquer!

  7. Nicole, these are so adorable! I absolutely love your nails this length! Maybe you could do some cute short nail art designs for those of us who keep our nails shorter :)

  8. Your nails look great at that length!
