Snowflake Gradient

Hi everyone!!  I hope you're all having a great week!  I'm sorry I've been relatively quiet lately.  I've been recovering from what the hospital assumes to have been two brown recluse bites, and all of the antibiotics they have me on have made me feel pretty blah.  But, on a brighter note, I opened a piece of nail mail yesterday that I knew I had to try right away!

I started off with OPI Roadhouse Blues, one of my favorite midnight blue cremes.  I followed it with one coat of SV.

I then decided to try a new method for a glitter gradient that the amazing Lucy's Stash shows here.  I have always used sponging for my gradients, so it was a lot of fun to try this new method, and I absolutely loved it.  It was a lot less messy as well!

To create the gradient, I used Girly Bits Sofa King Messy, a clear coat loaded with blue, green, silver, gold, red, and silver holographic micro and mini hexes.  This is actually an unreleased polish that will not be available for purchase.  It's super sparkly and so gorgeous!!!  I love it!

The mix of colors really reminded me of twinkling lights and snowy sparkles so I decided to pair Konad Special White with Bundle Monster plate BM-323 for the snowflake design.  I finished off with one coat of SV.

I really enjoyed creating this, and I really love the snowflake feel ... even though I live in Georgia and it's been in the seventies almost daily here!!!  I hope you all enjoyed it too!

Happy Painting!

  8. I didn't know what a brown recluse was, googled it, the images that came back of bite wounds left me saying WTF?! Hope they are mending, you rest up!

    1. Luckily mine didn't get as bad as those awful pics are. The sites were severely swollen and SUPER painful though. I could hardly move!! It was horrible!

    2. I am so glad we don't have them in the UK, that was next thing I stuck in Google to be sure we don't! I can't believe something so small can do so much damage. Hope the bites are mending and there's less pain now.

  10. I'm ashamed to admit that I was blinded by the manicure and missed the OWWWWW! I've killed a few black widows in my garage but have been lucky not to run across any recluse spiders yet. Can't even imagine how much that must have hurt, and the treatment can't feel much better. I hope it's all over and you feel better soon!!!

  12. Georgia ftw! I always get so excited when I find out that a blogger I follow is also from Georgia. :) Does the humidity also make your nail polish take forever to dry?

I got bit by a brown recluse as an infant. Although I don't remember it, I've heard enough gross stories from my parents about the bite to understand that they are extremely painful and unfortunate looking to say the least. As an adult, I still have a large scar on my stomach from it.

I hope you get better soon!!! Thanks for taking the time to share pretty polish!

  13. Eeewwww!!! Brown recluses are no bueno. I've had two friends that were hospitalized for more than a week because of those, one friend while she was pregnant. Glad you didn't have really bad ones.
Your nails look gorgeous, though. :)
