KKCenterHK Stamping Plate Review

Hi everyone!  I have a stamping plate review from one of my awesome sponsors, KKCenterHK!

I started off with two coats of Revlon Royal, topped with Max Factor Fantasy Fire, which is such a dazzling combination!

Next, I used Konad Special White with some images from their B04 plate.  I was immediately impressed with the images.  They are very detailed and original.

I didn't have any issues with transferring the images at all.  Everything came out very crisp and clean.

KKCenterHK has a really great selection of stamping plates, at great prices!  Go check them out!  Use this code for 10% off your purchase at KKCenterHK: BLGA337NI10

Classic Leopard

Hi everyone!!  Thank you all so much for all the well wishes!  I am feeling much, much better today!!
The boys all busied themselves with some PS3 this evening, so I had some time to sit down and do this!  I know what you're thinking, "Seriously, Nicole?  More leopard??"  Yeah, I like leopard.

I started off with two coats of Ulta Plum Street, a deep red creme.

Next, I taped off the top section of my nail to create the half moon look.  (I do these easily by using those little notebook paper hole protectors.)

I then added one coat of China Glaze Kalahari Kiss, a nice sandy creme.

Next, I used my medium sized dotting tool with China Glaze Desert Sun, a soft carmel creme, to place some random dots that would serve as the center of the rosettes.

I then used Kiss Black with my tiny dotting tool and formed the outside rosette rings.

This step was by far the most lengthy of all, I can assure you.

I finished it all off with one coat of SV.

Truth be told, this took me around two hours to create.  It was so nice to take my time with this!!

I am so thrilled with the end result, and I hope you are as well!!
I can't wait to see these out in the sun tomorrow! ...

Sun shots as promised!!!!

Happy Painting!

Naild' It - Poison Apple

Hi everyone!!  I'm sitting here with a less than awesome case of strep throat right now, but there's only so long I can go without doing my nails!!!

I started off with two coats of Essence Can't Cheat on Me, a scattered silver metallic.

It's a nice subtle polish that's super pretty!

Next, I added one coat of Naild' It Poison Apple.

Poison Apple is a clear coat loaded with red square, white & black shredded, and multi sized black & white hex glitters.

First of all, look at all of that glitter!!!!  That is just one easy coat!  Talk about a glitter bomb!!  I honestly didn't think I would be crazy about shredded glitters, but I could not have been more wrong!  I love them!!!

The red squares really give it a punch!  There are actually some large white hexes in there too, but for the life of me I could not get them to come out of the bottle, which was a little disappointing.

Other than that, I am so loving this one!  The forumla was a breeze!  The glitters went on very smoothly and didn't give me any trouble during application.  I followed it with one coat of SV to smooth everything out.

Here's a macro of Poison Apple on the nail to give you a better look at the awesomeness!!!

I even love the name!  I totally feel like the Evil Queen with this on!!!!

You can snag your own bottle of Poison Apple and other awesome polishes from the Naild' It Etsy store here!

Wonderful Water Color!

Hi everyone!  I wanted to go for something fun and random today, so here's what I came up with!
Sorry for the lack of outdoor photos, it's monsooning over here!

I started off with three coats of Maybelline Green With Envy, a pale pastel green creme.

While the color may be very pretty, the formula is terrible!!  The application was anything but smooth, and it was still ridiculously streaky after two coats.

Next, I used the polish brush, not a dotting tool, to place three dots on my nail.

I used Zoya Shelby, a medium pink creme, China Glaze Sweet Hook, a pale purple creme, and China Glaze Kinetic Candy, a pale blue creme.  I placed one thick dot of each color.

Next, I used a piece of a small Ziploc bag on top of my nail and then swirled it around in a circle, before carefully removing it from my nail.

I repeated this step with each nail.  I placed the color dots in different locations on my nail to achieve a different color pattern on each nail.  I then finished with one coat of SV.

This was a fun and easy look to create!  But, be mindful, clean up can be a bit of a pain for this one if you're not careful!  I hope you enjoy!

Happy Painting!

Lovely Leopard

Hi everyone!  I have a really fun party dress to wear out tonight, so I needed a matching mani!!

I started off with two coats of Revlon Stiletto, a black creme.  As far as application goes, this is my least favorite black creme.  However, it's borderline indestructible, which makes up for it.  I followed it with one coat of SV.

Next, I applied one strip of tape to each side of my nail, leaving a thick vertical line down the center.  I then applied one generous coat of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, a white creme with a slight grey undertone.  I removed the tape immediately after the application on each nail to ensure a clean line.  I followed it with one coat of SV.

I then used Barry M Silver Foil with my Mash-40 stamping plate to create the leopard design on my entire nail.  Now, don't get me wrong, this is nice, but the silver tends to get lost in the white.

To add depth, I placed another strip of tape on the sides of my nail, so that again only the white center was exposed.

I did not apply another coat of SV on top of the Silver Foil stamping.  After testing, I found that the tape did not have any kind of negative effect on the stamped section.  (Which is pretty awesome!)

I used Konad Special Black with the same stamping plate, Mash-40, and stamped the exposed section.  I then immediately removed the tape.  This let me achieve the depth I was looking for.  I finished with one coat of SV.

So, here are my nails with the party dress!  It is a borderline basic "little black dress", that A-lines out at the hips.  It has vertical leopard print color blocking strips.  It's so cute and fun!  I love it!

I am so happy with the end result!

I hope you all enjoy this one!

Happy Painting!

Houndstooth and Play!

Hi everyone!  I have another awesome indie up today!!

I started off with two coats of Dandy Nails Come Out and Play, a bright purple neon with white micro hex glitters.

It went on very smoothly and easily.  After only two coats, there was no VNL, which is awesome for a neon!  I applied one coat of SV, since neons lack shine.

To give it a little punch, I used Konad Special Black with Bundle Monster plate BM-322 for the large houndstooth design, followed by another coat of SV.

I really like how this turned out.  It's simple, but has a bold flare to it.

Come Out and Play really pops against the black.

I hope you enjoy this one as much as I do!!

Happy Painting!

A Storm is Brewing

Hi everyone!!  I've gotten some amazing indies lately, and the names have been so inspiring for such fun mani ideas!!!!

I started off with two coats of Sally Hansen Wet Cement, a light grey creme, followed by one coat of SV.

Next, I used Barry M Silver Foil with Bundle Monster plate BM-305 for the lightning design.  I covered it with one coat of SV to protect it from the next step.

I was worried that Silver Foil might be a bit too light to show properly against Wet Cement, but I was dead wrong!  I love the combo of these two together.  Part of me wanted to stop here since I liked it so much!

I then applied one coat of F4 Polish Stormy Night, a clear coat loaded with matte purple, black, white and blue glitters in various shapes and sizes.

I'm crazy about these glitters!  They were a little bit reluctant to come out of the bottle, especially the white ones for some reason.  But, honestly, I was kind of glad, since I wasn't going for a glitter bomb look.  I finished with one last coat of SV.

I had a lot of fun with this one!  I hope you enjoy!

Happy Painting!!
