Nearly Nautical

Hi everyone!!  I was in my closet today and happened to notice a cute little navy blue dress with thin white horizontal strips, and it dawned on me that I haven't done a nautical mani in ages!!

I stared off with two coats of China Glaze First Mate, a navy creme, and three coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, a white creme with a grey undertone, to my ring fingers.

I started to go with the traditional stripes!  I had my tape all ready to go and everything.  But then I thought about how many nautical manis I see with stripes, so I decided to go in a different direction.

With my medium and small dotting tool, I used both First Mate and My Boyfriend Scales Walls to create the dotted line pattern.

For a little something extra, I used Konad Special Red with Bundle Monster plate BM-08 for the anchor on my accent nails.  I finished with one coat of Poshé.

Glitter-gasmic

Hi everyone!  I'm sorry I've been MIA for the past few days!  I've been super busy with the new Elixir collection, as well as a super fun weekend camping trip with our oldest son and some friends.

I came home on Sunday evening to find a particularly awesome piece of nail mail, and I knew I had to share a bit of it with you!

I started off with three coats of OPI Moon Over Mumbai, a sheer off white shimmer with some blue/grey undertones.  I followed it with one coat of SV.

Next, I added one coat of Candeo Colors Joker, a clear coat loaded with silver, blue, light purple, dark purple, and periwinkle multi-sized hexes.  (That's right, I said periwinkle. *faints*)

It's a complete glitterbomb!  Like I said, this is only one coat!  

I left my ring finger blank to create and accent nail.

I used my small dotting tool with Zoya Monica, Zoya Carly, Essie No More Film, and Color Club Pucci-licious to create a dotted gradient on my ring fingers.  I finished with one coat of Poshé.

I adore the look of the dotted gradient paired with Joker.  Joker is a seriously amazing glitter, but I could have done with a little less glitterbombage.  It's just a teeny bit much, but it's still gorgeous.

Jindie Nails Review

Hi everyone!  I have some awesome swatches for you today from Jindie Nails!

Up first is Smells Like Green Spirit, a grass green jelly loaded with multi-color & sized hexes.

Shown is three coats of Smells Like Green Spirit.

Smells Like Green Spirit may be a jelly, but is clearly totally buildable!  The formula was very easy to work with, and didn't require any glitter fishing.

Next up is Oh, U Fancy, Huh, a clear coat packed with purple, neon pink, teal matte micro glitters, as well as teal prismatic mini hexes and squares.

Shown is two coats of Oh, U Fancy, Huh over China Glaze First Mate.

Oh, U Fancy, Huh was also super easy to work with.  It has a great sparkle, but is toned down by all of the great matte glitters.

Here is Wild Watermelon, a sheer green/gold shimmer with coral and green multi-sized hexes and black squares.

Shown is two coats of Wild Watermelon over Hard Candy Frenzy.

Wild Watermelon is a really fun polish to wear.  The formula was great, and I love the fact that it's not a total glitter bomb!

Next is You're Gonna Love Me, a clear coat with array of glitters in pinks and purples in multi-sized hexes and squares.

Shown is two coats of You're Gonna Love Me over Elixir Lacquers Smokey Coat.

The name is severely accurate, because I adore You're Gonna Love Me.  It's like wearing rock candy on your nails!  Another perfect formula with no glitter fishing!

This next one is Shift n' Giggles, a sheer shifting shimmer with flashes of aqua, greenish blue, and purple with iridescent multi-sized glitters, holographic micro glitters, and prismatic pink diamonds.

Shown is two coats of Shift n' Giggles over Essie No More Film.

Shift n' Giggles has a formula that's easy to work with, but the pink diamonds are a tad reluctant to come out of the bottle.  I felt like I had a little bit of a galaxy mani going on!

Finally, here is Baby Doll, a clear coat packed with satin pink, blue, lavender, green and matte white hexes, with iridescent squares.

Shown is two coats of Baby Doll over Elixir Lacquers Blue Coat. 

And, again, another smooth formula.  Some of the large glitters required a bit of fishing, but nothing too challenging.  I liked this one so much that I decided to rock it for the time being!

First up is Blue Coat, which was inspired by Norris, who was able to find his forever home, thanks to the Atlanta Bully Rescue!

Blue Coat is a deep navy blue with a dusting of holographic particles.

Smokey Coat was inspired by Sadie, who was able to find her forever home, thanks to the Atlanta Bully Rescue!

Spotted & Splotched

Spotted & Splotched was inspired by Bentley, who found his forever home with my amazing friends Ale and Eric, thanks to the Atlanta Bully Rescue! 

Spotted & Splotched is a clear coat packed with brown micro glitter and white hexes.

Red Nose

Red Nose was inspired by Nola, who was able to find her forever home, thanks to the Atlanta Bully Rescue!

Red Nose is a clear coat loaded with fiery copper holographic micro glitter.

Shown is two coats of Red Nose over OPI Danke-shiny Red.

Brindle

Brindle was inspired by Lucy, who was able to find her forever home, thanks to the Atlanta Bully Rescue!  She was even roomies with Bentley for a bit while she was fostered by Ale and Eric!!

Brindle is a clear coat packed with brown micro and orange holographic micro glitters, along with black hexes.

Happy Tears

Happy Tears was inspired by the beautiful eyes of sweet little Kieran, who found his forever home with my gorgeous friend Melissa, thanks to the Atlanta Bully Rescue! 

Happy Tears is a slightly shimmery royal blue jelly packed with mini blue squares and white hexes.

Shown is one coat of Happy Tears over Sally Hansen Pacific Blue.

Forever Home

Forever Home was inspired by the amazing and selfless Atlanta Bully Rescue.

Forever Home is a clear coat filled with red hearts, mini blue squares, and black & white hexes.

Shown is two coats of Forever Home over Color Club Pucci-licious.

On a personal note, the very first dog I grew up with was a massive red nose pit named Zeus.

He was badly abused as a puppy.  The mental stress of it caused him to break out into hives during thunderstorms, while he hid under tables.  But he was such a joy for our family, and an all around wonderful dog.
