Water Marble Turned Lily

Hi everyone!  I had some free time today, which was awesome because I've been itching to water marble lately!!

I started off with two coats of a white creme, which is always my preference when water marbling.  I then marbled with China Glaze Tart-y for the Party, a soft purple creme, China Glaze Fade into Hue, a soft periwinkle creme, and Zoya Renee, a bright pink creme, for a pop color.

When I looked closely at the pattern, I saw how much it reminded me of the lily petals on one of my tattoos ...

Here's a pic of it taken the night after it was done.
(In case you're curious, the lily covers a scar from my youth, the three stars are for my husband and our little boys, and there are seven flashes of stardust for my lucky number.)

I used my small and medium dotting tools with Zoya Julieanne for the center pistil.  I then used my striping brush with Zoya Pinta for the filaments, and again used my medium dotting tool with Zoya Zuza for the anthers.

Another side by side, just for fun!

I then topped it with one coat of Out the Door Hologram, and finished with one coat of SV ... because my name is Nicole, and I clearly have a top coat obsession.

I had a lot of fun creating this one, and it makes me happy to have my nails mimic one of my tattoos.

I hope you all enjoyed!  Happy Painting!!

Colors: China Glaze Tart-y for the Party, China Glaze Fade into Hue, Zoya Renee, Zoya Julieanne, Zoya Pinta, Zoya Zuza

  3. Wonderful water marbling! I like the thought that went into your tattoo. It is pretty in its own rights but the meaning behind it makes it extra special.
