Marbled Chevrons

Hi everyone!!  I mentioned this on my Facebook page on Thursday, but for those of you who might not have seen it, we have had a death in the family.  There are some things I need to help out with this weekend, so my blog will have to wait a few days.  I set aside a little time on Friday to get a mani done for a weekend post for you all, so here's what I came up with!!

I started off with two coats of Elevation Polish Marmolda on my thumb and index finger, three coats of Essie Lilacism on my middle and ring finger, and two coats of OPI Tiffany Case on my pinky finger.  I followed with one coat of SV, with the exception of Tiffany Case.

I really wanted some out of the norm chevrons over Lilacism, so I used a Ziploc bag and painted two decent sized rectangles on it with Sally Hansen White On.

I then placed a few drops of China Glaze Too Yacht To Handle on one of the rectangles, and China Glaze Creative Fantasy on the other.  I then used a dotting tool to swirl the colors around for a marble looking pattern.

To cut down on the drying time for the polish swirls, I put the Ziploc bag in the freezer for a few minutes.  Once it was dry, I carefully peeled each rectangle of polish off of the bag and used my craft scissors to cut it into chevron strips.

I wanted them to stand apart from each other, so I decided to make the Too Yacht To Handle strips a bit thicker and further apart, while the Creative Fantasy strips were thinner and closer together.  I followed with one coat of SV.  I felt like adding a little extra something to it, so I placed one of my Born Pretty Store bows on my index finger.

I really love the way this turned out!  Making the chevron polish strips was so much fun!!  I hope you enjoyed seeing it as well!

Happy Painting!
