Tri-Colored Chevron

Hi everyone!!  I really felt like doing some chevrons again today.  I know, I just did a little bit of chevron two weeks ago.  I like chevrons.  Sue me.  ;)

I started off with two coats of Sinful Colors Black on Black, a black creme.  I followed with one coat of SV.  Yep, just black.  Ooooh.  Aaaah.  Anyway, moving right along ...

I taped off the top section of my nail, with a pattern reversal on my ring finger, and added one coat of Orly Boho Bonnet, a dusty periwinkle creme.  I followed again with one coat of SV.

I taped off once more and added on coat of China Glaze L8R G8R, a lime green holo, for a fun pop color.  I finished with one final coat of SV.

I absolutely love the end result!  L8R G8R really makes my tips look electric against the muted Boho Bonnet!!

I hope you all enjoyed!  Happy Painting!

Taylor's Gift

Hi everyone!  I have a really special polish to show you today called Taylor Blue by OPI.  Taylor Blue was created in honor of Taylor Storch, who lost her life in a skiing accident.  She was able to pass on the gift of life to people in need through organ donation.  One hundred percent of the proceeds from Taylor Blue go towards financial grants to help those touched by organ donation.

I started off with two coats of Taylor Blue, a beautiful deep teal creme with blue undertones.  The formula was rich and smooth, and very easy to apply.

I knew I wanted to incorporate some hearts for Taylor, and I knew I wanted them to pop, so I paired Color Club Beyond with my Mash-38 plate.  I chose this one specifically because of the open open heart for Taylor Blue to shine through.

I then continued with Color Club Beyond and my Nailz Crazy NC-01 plate for the vertical hearts down the sides of my nails.  I finished with one coat of SV.

I was so happy that I chose a holographic to stamp with.  I love the way that the rainbows shine through the hearts.

You can find Taylor Blue and some other wonderful donation options here.

I really hope you enjoyed today's mani as much as I enjoyed creating it with such a special girl in mind.

Happy Painting!

Cherry Nails for a Cherry Day

Hi everyone!!  I'm so excited today because tonight we're going to see a Q&A with Kevin Smith!!  I am absolutely beside myself!!  I always refer to days like these as being cherry, so I thought I'd do some cherry nails to match!!

I started off with two coats of China Glaze Kinetic Candy and two coats of China Glaze Sweet Hook on my ring finger.  These are two of my favorite pastels to use because the formula is so rich and smooth!

I used my larger dotting tools with Zoya Rekha, a medium red creme, to create the cherries.

Then I used my striping brush with Sinful Colors Black on Black to create the cherry stems.

Next I used my pointed dotting tool with OPI Jade is the New Black to place some little leaves on the stems.  I also added a small swipe of Kiss Silver Glitter to the cherries for a little shine.  I finished with one coat of SV.

I adore cherries, and I'm honestly more than a little surprised that it took me this long to do a cherry mani!

I hope you all enjoyed!!

Happy Painting!

OMG a UFO is a deep olive holographic.  The formula went on really well.  These all apply like a metallic, but the brush strokes blend in completely as it dries.  I really like this color a lot.  It's earthy and makes a great statement.

I was a little let down by the holographic strength of these when I saw them in the bottle, but the holo definitely pops in the sun.  I am absolutely crazy about each one of these, and I hope you are too!

Happy Painting!
