Leopard Graffiti

Hey everyone!!  I felt like going with something wild and bright, so here's what I came up with ...

I started off with two coats of OPI Planks a Lot, a medium purple creme, on my index and pinkie nails, and two coats of Essie Naughty Nautical, a bold teal creme with a subtle shimmer, on my middle and ring nails.

I added one coat of Elevation Polish Haba Xueshan, a clear coat loaded with multi-sized black and white hexes & bars and multi-sized satin teal dots, over Planks a Lot.  Oh my gosh.  I am in lust with Haba Xueshan.  The teal dots make this pop like no other black and white glitter I've used.  Is it awful or totally awesome that I want to layer this over absolutely everything?!

I used my large dotting tool with Planks a Lot and Essie Sunday Funday to create the inner rosettes.  I decided to turn the Planks a Lot dots into little hearts for a girly touch.

I used my smallest dotting tool with Sinful Colors Black on Black to outline the dots for the full rosettes.  I finished with one coat of SV.

I really love the end result!!  It is so much fun to wear!!

I really hope you enjoyed!!  Happy Painting!

Jamberry Nail Apps Review

Hi everyone!  I had my first experience with Jamberry nail apps today.  I was really curious to see if they were very different from the other nail apps I have tried, since you heat them up with a hair dryer before application.  These are also non-toxic and not actually made of nail polish!!!
I paired my designs with OPI Jade is the New Black.

I had a little trouble finding sizes that would cover my entire nail, so that was a little disappointing.  I heated up my nail apps for my index and pinkie nails and applied as instructed.

The heat didn't make the apps as pliable as I had hoped.  The app applied smoothly on my pinkie nail, but did not want to grip the top of my nail too easily.  The app on my index finger applied much more easily, but I was left with a pop up wrinkle along one side.

I'm really interested in having another go or two at these.  Jamberry has some amazing designs for their apps, and these have a crazy amount to shine to them!

There are even Jamberry Nail consultants working their magic with these nail apps as well, which I think is something really awesome!

Nailz Craze NC03 & NC04 Stamping Plate Review

Hi everyone!  I have two of the amazing Nailz Craze stamping plates for you today!

NC03

Plate NC03 features Russian babushka dolls, floral designs, an adorable big eared mouse, and a sweater pattern.  I really loved the Russian babushka dolls, so I paired them with Konad Special Black over Essence Off to Miami.  The babushka dolls are fairly large.  I have relatively long nails, and I still wasn't able to fit the largest doll on my longest nail.  The stamped very easily though.

NC04

Plate NC04 features a variety of gem designs.  I decided to pair it with Konad Special Black, Color Club Cherubic & Beyond.  I had absolutely zero trouble with the designs I chose.  I did however have a lot of problems with the two recess reversal designs.  No matter how I scraped, or what I used to scrape, the large recessed area was scraped clean.

Overall I was really happy with these two plates, other than those two tricky designs.  You can find all of the Nailz Craze stamping plates at their storefront here, and be sure to check them out on Facebook for all their latest info.

Nailz Craze also created a special coupon code for my readers!!  For the next month, use code NPWARS10 for 10% off of your order!  YAY!!

Happy Painting!

Color Secrets Clueless, The Secret Garden & Nail Apps Review

Hi everyone!  I have two more Color Secrets polishes for you today, as well as a look at some of their nail apps!

Clueless

Clueless is a really fun bright pink neon.  The formula was a bit streaky during application, but that's always to be expected with neons.  As you probably know, I'm not typically one for pinks, but this one is so much fun to wear!  It just screams summer!!
Shown is three coats of Clueless.

As you can see, I'm wearing one of these adorable nail apps on my pinkie nail for an accent.  I knew I wanted to use it as soon as I saw it!  I mean, come on, it says, "Walk Walk Fashion Baby".  How awesome is that?  I was a little let down by them though.  They're a bit on the thick side, so it was basically impossible for me to smooth it down completely.

The Secret Garden

The Secret Garden is a sheer deep blue jelly loaded with shimmering green particles.  The formula was rich and easy to apply.  This one has a really great ocean feel to it.
Shown is three coats of The Secret Garden.

I really wish the nail apps would have worked a little bit better.  I really loved the designs and colors.

You can find all of the Color Secrets polishes at their store front here, and be sure to check them out on Facebook for all of their latest updates.

Happy Painting!

The Nail Polish Wars 'Mecca'

Hi everyone!  I am SOOO excited to show you what has been nicknamed the Nail Polish Wars Mecca!!  I have been craving something like this for quite sometime, so I went to one of the most creative and talented woodworking companies that I know of, Gl Wooden Things.  I gave them a rough idea of what I was looking for, and they immediately came up with a plan for something truly amazing!
(Be sure to click on the photos to enlarge!)

The Mecca is a custom corner unit that is made up of two separate pieces that were connected upon installation.  This piece has also been secured to the walls for safety and polish bottle security.  It consists of nine three tiered shelves on both sides.  The back and shelves were left open to allow my beloved office walls to shine through!!  As you can also see, support pieces have been added in the shelf tiers for better support, which I think also gives it a really great look!!!

Each piece of wood was sanded by hand for a smooth and even finish.  All pieces were then carefully burned to bring out the natural beauty in the wood grain, then stained a beautiful honey oak that I selected.  Once the staining was complete, the pieces were finished with a high gloss coat and then lightly sanded and polished for shine.  So, to sum up, GL Wooden Things really went above and beyond!!!

There is also a raised lip on the front of the bottom tier shelf to prevent the bottles from falling off of the unit should I bump a few of them.  *phew*

Here are some shots of the Mecca in progress!
I stopped by one day to see how things were going with it, and they even let me get in on the fun!!

The GL Wooden Things four legged team, Chloë and Ralphie, were on the job too!!  I left a few bottles of polish with them so they could make sure the shelves were spaced perfectly, and it seems like they had a great deal of fun putting the polish in "danger"!  Anyone else stressed out seeing the bottles under the saw blade?!  Hahaha!

I could not possibly be any happier with the way the Mecca turned out!

I love how much room I still have for new additions to my arsenal of polish!  It is so nice to be able to easily see all of my bottles of polish and not have to go through drawer after drawer searching for just the right shade!!  (And don't worry, I have a step ladder to reach the top shelves!!)

I have organized my arsenal by brand and then by color.  It's hard to say just how many bottles it will hold, since so there are many different shapes and sizes of bottles.  It currently holds 1200 bottles of polish, and I have a lot of room for more!!

GL Wooden Things also went one step further and created this awesome plaque for me!  It features one of my all time favorite manis and one of my favorite Elixirs!  The white lettering also has white iridescent glitters!!!  I have it in a free standing frame right now, but it can also be hung on the wall, or even used as a front license plate for my car!!!!!  WOW!!!!

GL Wooden Things has some amazing pieces available on their storefront page here, and they also take custom orders like mine, for things large and small!!!  So if you're looking for an amazing polish rack, I think you know who to contact about it now!!

I really hope you enjoyed seeing this amazing piece that has made my office complete!  Now then, if you need me, I'll be sitting in my office staring at the Mecca!!!!!

When Manis Collide ...

Hey everyone!  I have a bit of a mash up mani for you today!  I was thinking about my Dipped in Deco mani and my Dragon Scales mani, and I was curious what it would look like if I kind of stylistically blended them together!

I started off with two coats of China Glaze Not in this Galaxy, a deep coral holographic.  I followed with one coat of SV.

I applied my striping tape randomly and used a wedge sponge over it to create a gradient with China Glaze Sci-Fly By, Take a Trek, and Strap on your Moonboots.

Since I was sponging over a bolder color, I sponged on the gradient colors twice in a row before removing my striping tape for an opaque top finish.  I finished with two coats of SV for a smooth and high gloss shine.

I really love the way this turned out.  The gradient colors work so well together and seem to flash bits of purple in certain lighting, thanks to the coral below.

I hope you enjoyed!  Happy Painting!

Glitter Gal LE Hot Chilli & Transfusion Swatch & Review

Hi everyone!!  I have the two new limited edition shades from Glitter Gal for you today!!!

Hot Chilli

Hot Chilli is a fiery deep chili pepper red holographic.  The formula was very rich and applied quite easily.  I am absolutely mad for this shade!!  It's so spicy and fierce!

Shown above is two coats of Chilli Pepper indoors.
Shown below is two coats of Chilli Pepper outdoors.

Transfusion

Transfusion is a deep berry holographic.  The formula was rich and easy to apply.  I really don't recommend using a top coat on this one, as it seriously cuts down on the holo effect.  It also dries very quickly, so it isn't too much of an issue.  This is one of the most gorgeous holos that I have ever laid eyes on.  To be honest, I'd be in lust with this color even without the holo!!!

Shown above is two coats of Transfusion indoors.
Show below is two coats of Transfusion outdoors.

Glitter Gal is available at many online locations, such as their official website here and Dusk to Dawn Beauty, which is my favorite US Glitter Gal retailer.  They are only available in 10ml sized bottles, that are always “Big 5 Free”, cruelty free and Vegan friendly.

Be sure to check out Glitter Gal on Facebook, and follow them on Twitter to stay up to date on the latest and greatest from this amazing line.
