Born Pretty Store White Bow Review

Hi everyone!  I have some adorable white bow nail art pieces from Born Pretty Store for you today!

I started off with two coats of Cult Nails Faded, a very pale grey creme, and two coats of Cult Nails Fetish, a black wax finish creme, on my ring fingers.

I used my largest dotting tool with Faded & Fetish for a contrast dotting look.  I am so into big dots right now!!  They're so simple, but so much fun to wear!!

I applied one coat of Cult Nails Wax That top coat, and then I used nail glue to apply one of the bows to my ring finger.  It bonded immediately and the glue didn't damage the white backing of the bows, which is something I've had trouble with in the past.

I am crazy about these little bows!!  I thought they might be a bit too large and easy to knock off of the nail, but they're definitely not!!!!  I have bumped my finger at least twenty times, and these little bows are still going strong after four days!  I cannot wait to try the other styles!!

You can find this ten piece set of bows and other awesome nail art add ons and tools at the Born Pretty Store here.  You can also use code DQL91 to receive 10% off of your total order!

Happy Painting!

China Glaze Sunsational Collection Swatch & Review

Hi everyone!  I have the China Glaze Sunsational Collection for you today.  Let me start by saying that this is, without a doubt, the most difficult collection swatch I have ever done, and was also the most difficult to photograph.

Bottoms Up

Bottoms Up is a medium pink neon creme.  The formula did not apply evenly and was very streaky.  Even after three coats, I still had to touch up a few areas that were very thin.  I am crazy about this shade though, I love how glowy it is when the light hits it.
Shown is three coats of Bottoms Up.

Neon & On & On

Neon & On & On is a light coral neon creme.  The formula was very thin and streaky.  As with Bottoms Up, some touch up spots were needed after the third coat.  I am so crazy about corals right now.  This one does remind me of Flip Flop Fantasy a bit, which definitely isn't a negative.
Shown is three coats of Neon & On & On.

Shell-O

Shello-O is a bright coral neon jelly.  The formula was very thin and a little difficult to achieve a smooth and even finish.  Another awesome coral!!
Shown is three coats of Shell-O over white base.

Heat Index

Heat Index is a bright pink neon jelly.  The formula was thin and did not apply evenly.  This one might be a little too pink for me, but that's just my taste.
Shown is three coats of Heat Index over white base.

You Drive Me Coconuts

You Drive Me Coconuts is a bright magenta neon creme.  The formula was thin and very streaky, but was easily built up.  I would have liked to have seen something a little different, since this one just seems to be a creme version of Heat Index.
Shown is three coats of You Drive Me Coconuts.

Sun of a Peach

Sun of a Peach is a bright peach neon creme.  The formula was a bit better here, but was still very streaky.  I adore peach shades, especially for summer.
Shown is three coats of Sun of a Peach.

Highlight of my Summer

Highlight of my Summer is a pale green neon creme.  The formula was very thin and did not apply evenly, but was easily built up.  I was really excited to see such a soft bright green!
Shown is three coats of Highlight of my Summer.

Too Yacht to Handle

Too Yacht to Handle is a light teal neon creme.  The formula was a bit better, but was still very streaky, but was easily built up.  This is definitely a fun shade for summer.  I really like it!
Shown is three coats of Too Yacht to Handle.

Keepin' It Teal

Keepin' It Teal is a bright green neon jelly.  The formula was very thin and did not apply evenly.  I was surprised at how much I liked wearing this one.  It's a great green.
Shown is three coats of Keepin' It Teal over white base.

Isle See You Later

Isle See You Later is a medium blue neon jelly.  The formula was very thin and did not apply evenly.  I would have liked this one a lot more if it hadn't have been so patchy.
Shown is three coats of Isle See You Later over white base.

That's Shore Bright

That's Shore Bright is a light purple neon creme.  The formula was much smoother in this one, but was still rather streaky.  I adore this one!  A bright and fun purple?!  Yes please!!
Shown is three coats of That's Shore Bright.

Are You Jelly?

Are You Jelly? is a bright purple neon jelly.  The formula was a bit better in this one, but was still very streaky.  I really love this one as well.  The flashes of pink the in light are amazing!
Shown is three coats of Are You Jelly? over white base.

I was so excited about this collection.  I am absolutely crazy about the colors, but the formulas really need some work.  Some of the jellies are so thin that you'll probably have to use a white base for an opaque finish.  They honestly felt like I was trying to paint my nails with water colors.  The cremes are much better as far an an opaque finish goes, but it still took a great deal of finesse for a smooth look.

Happy Painting!

Hot Ticket Swatch & Review

Hi everyone!!  I have three awesome Hot Ticket polishes for you today!!

Sky Blue Right Past You

Sky Blue Right Past You is a pretty light blue creme.  The formula was smooth, but was a bit streaky as well. But it was easily built up, so it wasn't too much of an issue.  I really like this blue a lot, it's a little muted, but still bold!
Shown is three coats of Sky Blue Right Past You.

Candy Apple-a-Day

Candy Apple-a-Day is a bright red jelly with a shimmer that flashes from gold to purple.  The formula was smooth and easy to apply.  I adore this shade!  It's so shimmery and feminine, and makes such a statement.
Shown is three coats of Candy Apple-a-Day.

Root Beer Gloat

Root Beer Gloat is a deep chocolate shimmer.  The formula was rich and easy to apply.  I like this one a lot!  This will be such a great shade for fall and winter.  It's really warm and dazzling!
Shown is two coats of Root Beer Gloat.

This was my first experience with Hot Ticket, and I absolutely adore them!!  I'm really excited to try some other shades now!!  You can find Hot Ticket at their storefront here, and at and Dusk to Dawn Beauty, which is my favorite Hot Ticket retailer. I hope you enjoyed!

Lace & Studs

Hi everyone!  I was in a major skittlette mood, so here's what I came up with!

I started off with three coats of Essie Turquoise & Caicos on my thumb and index fingers, two coats of Adore To Have and To Hold on my middle and ring fingers, and two coats of China Glaze Itty, Bitty & Gritty on my pinky finger.

I added one coat of Glitter Gal Turbulence to my middle and ring fingers for a touch of holographic.  I also added three silver studs to my index finger, and two silver studs to my thumb. (Shown in first picture.)

Next, I paired Konad Special Black with Bundle Monster plate BM-323 for the lace design.

I also used Konad Special Red with Cheeky plate CH14 for the little rose.  I finished with one coat of SV, with the exception of my pinky nail.

I really adore the final look!  I love the way the red roses accent Itty, Bitty & Gritty so nicely.

I really hope you enjoyed!  Happy Painting!

Caboodles Gilded Pleasure Nail Valet Giveaway

Hi everyone!!!  As you can imagine, I am always taking some select bottles of polish with me when I leave my house.  It's always been something that's both worrisome and kind of a hassle.  There are just too many possibilites for a broken bottle during transport, and bubble wrapping each bottle takes way too long when you're on the go.

As you can imagine, I was beyond excited to get my hands on one of the new Gilded Pleasure Nail Valets from Caboodles!!  It has specialized slots in the top for my dotting tools, striping brushes, and tools.  There is a fairly deep removable top section for all my other odds and ends like remover, striping tapes, etc.  And in the bottom there is an amazing nail storage area that will hold twenty-four bottles!!!!!  Now I can take a great variety of polish with me anywhere I go!!

The case is also super sturdy as well, so bumping your valet isn't going to cause any damage to the contents.  I was also so excited to get the teal and black polka dot style!  I'd only seen the pink and zebra valet.  Don't get me wrong, I adore pink and zebra stripes, but the teal is so much more me!!!

Caboodles has very generously offered a giveaway for this awesome valet, in this same color and style, which is actually exclusive to Target.  Use the Rafflecopter widget below for your chance to win this awesome nail valet!!
The giveaway will be open to the US only!!!
