Alanna Renee It's a Boy and Snips & Snails & Puppy Dog Tails Swatch & Review

Hi everyone!  Today I have two awesome shades from Alanna Renee for you today!  Both of these shades are part of the Bundle of Joy Collection.

It's a Boy!

It's a Boy! is a light blue creme with a subtle silver shimmer.  The formula was rich and very easy to apply.  I was really surprised at how well the coverage was for this one.  It's hard to find a great baby blue that doesn't require three coats.  I really love this shade!
Shown is two coats of It's a Boy!

Snips & Snails & Puppy Dog Tails

Snips & Snails & Puppy Dog Tails is a clear coat loaded with multi-sized blue and red hexes.  The formula was smooth and easy to apply, and the glitters spread out evenly across the nail.  I love the way these two shades look together!!
Shown is one coat of Snips & Snails & Puppy Dog Tails over It's a Boy!.

You can find these and other great Alanna Renee shades at their storefront here, and at other online retailers, such as Color4Nails.

Vermelho Marcia Lima Dorothy Shoes and Heart of the Ocean Swatch & Review

Hi everyone!  Time for another "new to me" indie review!  I have two awesome shades from Vermelho Marcia Lima for you today!

Dorothy Shoes

Dorothy Shoes is a medium red jelly loaded with red holographic micro glitters.  The formula was smooth and easy to apply.  The glitters are really dense, so it was very easy to achieve and opaque finish.  I really like this one a lot! It has a great .... Somewherrrrrre over the rainbow ....
Wow.  That just came out of nowhere, didn't it?!
Shown is two coats of Dorothy Shoes.

Heart of the Ocean

Heart of the Ocean is a medium blue jelly loaded with blue holographic micro glitters.  The formula was smooth and easy to apply.  This one was also easily opaque.  I love this one to pieces as well! It's kind of ... Near, far - whereeeeeeeeever you are ...
Dammit, there it went again!!!
Shown is two coats of Heart of the Ocean.

You can find Vermelho Marcia Lima from certain online retailers, such as Color4Nails.

Penélope Luz Blue Bird of Paradise and Wizard Swatch & Review

Hi everyone!!  I have two shades from Penélope Luz for you today!  This is another new indie experience for me - which is always awesome!

Blue Bird of Paradise

Blue Bird of Paradise is a sheer pale grey jelly with black micro glitters & squares, and multi-sized hexes in purple, blue, and teal.  The formula was smooth and easy to apply, but is extremely sheer, so you will need to use a base coat for an opaque finish.  I really like this one a lot.  The glitters are a bit sparse, so they're not overpowering.
Shown is two coats of Blue Bird of Paradise over Sinful Colors Zeus.

Wizard

Wizard is a clear coat loaded with multi-sized hexes in gold, purple, lilac, and black, as well as black stars.  The formula was smooth and easy to apply, but I was unable to fish out any of the black stars.  I absolutely love this shade!!  The purples accent the gold so nicely!
Shown is one coat of Wizard over Sinful Colors Unicorn.

You can find these and other great shades at the Penélope Luz storefront here, and at other online retailers such as Color4Nails.

Diamond Candle Giveaway

Hi everyone!  I was recently asked to try out Diamond Candles.  If you're not familiar with them, they're tall soy candles that have a ring in each one that is worth either $10, $100, $1,000, or $5,000!!  So, not only did I create a mani to match the ring I found in my candle, but I have one candle to giveaway to one of you as well!!

In my candle, I found a beautiful silver ring with gemstones in a floral design.  The stones resemble garnet and diamond.  While I don't think my ring is one of the big money ones, I still like it a lot!!

I really like how cleanly these candles burn down.  Once they're done, you can use the glass holder for so many different things!!  The scent I received was Peachy Mango, which I loved!  However, I will say that the smell of it wasn't as strong as I would have liked.

See that golden disk?  That's where my ring was hidden!  It typically takes around 10 - 12 hours for your candle to burn down far enough for you to retrieve your ring, which is in a sealed bag, and then wrapped in gold foil to protect it from the wax.  For those of us who might be a little impatient, and I'm totally not naming names here, a spoon can help you speed up the process a little if you'd like!!

For my mani, I applied two coats of A England Excalibur, followed by one coat of SV.

I applied my striping tape, and applied one coat of A England Rose Bower, and then immediately removed the tape.  I applied a small rhinestone to the center of the design, and finished with one coat of SV.

I hope you enjoyed!  Good luck!!

This giveaway is sponsored by Diamond Candles and is open to US residents only. Giveaway ends on October 5th.

Esmaltes Da Kelly Bella and Chameleon Swatch & Review

Hi everyone!  I have two polishes from Esmaltes Da Kelly for you today!  This is my first experience with this indie brand, so I was super excited to try them!!

Bella

Bella is a clear coat loaded with multi-sized pink holographic hexes.  The formula was smooth and easy to apply. I absolutely love this one!  The glitters are small, but pack a punch, and it has such a dazzling but sweet look to it.
Shown is one coat of Bella over China Glaze Creative Fantasy.

Chameleon

Chameleon is a sheer grey jelly loaded with a rainbow of holographic hexes.  The formula was very thick and not easy to apply.  It took a great deal of finesse to achieve a relatively smooth finish.  The base is extremely sheer, so you will need to use a base color for an opaque finish.  I would only recommend using darker shades with this one.  I didn't, and I ended up with a dirty looking shade, which I wasn't wild about.
Shown is one coat of Chameleon over Funky Fingers Mrs. Mint.

You can find these and other Esmaltes Da Kelly shades at their storefront here, and at other online retailers, such as Color4Nails.

Hi everyone!  Today I have three new additions to the Gems & Gellies Collection by Pretty & Polished!

Lucia

Lucia is a medium red jelly loaded with red hexes and dots.  The formula was smooth and very easy to apply, and the glitters spread out evenly across the nail.  I am absolutely crazy about this shade!  The glitters are very subtle, but pop like crazy!

Dresden Doll Diamond

Dresden Doll Diamond is a medium green jelly loaded with green hexes and dots.  The formula was smooth and very easy to apply, and the glitters spread out evenly across the nail.  This was another fast favorite!  The color is so rich and the glitters make such a statement.
Shown is three coats of Dresden Doll Diamond.

Precious Pumpkin

Precious Pumpkin is a medium orange jelly loaded with orange hexes and dots.  The formula was smooth and easy to apply, and the glitters spread out evenly across the nail.  The glitters are a bit darker than the jelly in this one, so they do stand out a bit more.

Texas Tea

Hi everyone!  I know I always seem to go for pale shades when my nails are shorter, so I felt like going for the opposite of my norm today!

I started off with two coats of Sinful Colors Black on Black.  Say it with me now .... Oooooh, Aaaaah.  I followed with one coat of SV.

On my index fingers, I applied two coats of Sonnetarium Weapons of Massive Consumption, a clear coat with multi-sized silver and gold holographic hexes.

For my pinky fingers, I used my dotting tools with Color Club Cherubic for a lava lamp dot pattern.

For my ring fingers, I used my Suds n' Stickers chevron decals as guides, and applied one coat of Cherubic.

For my middle fingers, I paired Cherubic with my Mash-32 plate for the key design, and then used it with my dotting tools to add some small key holes.  I finished with one coat of SV.

I really love this mish mash of designs!  It has such a great holographic shine to it!

I hope you enjoyed!!  Happy Painting!

Colors: Sinful Colors Black on Black, Color Club Cherubic, Sonnetarium Weapons of Massive Consumption
Stamping Plate: Mash-32

Pretty & Polished Halloween 2013 Collection Swatch & Review

Hi everyone!  I have the new Halloween Collection from Pretty & Polished for you today!

Death by Candy Corn

Death by Candy Corn is a soft yellow thermal crelly loaded with multi-sized yellow hexes, small orange squares, multi-sized red-orange hexes, and white rectangles.  The polish changes from soft yellow to soft orange, depending on temperature.  The formula was smooth and easy to apply, and the glitters spread out evenly across the nail.
Shown is three coats of Death by Candy Corn when warm.

And here is Death by Candy Corn when cold ...

I really love this one!  It has such a wonderful candy feel to it, and the color change is so much fun to see!

Are You Afraid of the Dark?

Are You Afraid of the Dark? is a sheer black jelly loaded with red micro glitter, multi-sized blue and teal hexes, and large red and fuchsia dots.  The formula was smooth, but is very thin, so if you're going for an opaque finish you will need to use a base color.  However, I love the smokey look from the sheer finish.
Shown is three coats of Are You Afraid of the Dark?

Glowstick

Glowstick is a glow in the dark bright medium crelly loaded with multi-sized orange and green hexes.  The formula was smooth and easy to apply, and the glitters spread out evenly across the nail.  I love how bright and fun this one is!!
Shown is three coats of Glowstick

I love how strong the glow in the dark effect is for this one too!
