Beyond Polish Store Spam

Hi everyone!  I recently came across an awesome new online polish retailer, Beyond Polish.  I was so excited to see so many shades from past collections that I'd missed out on previously!  I picked out these three immediately.

China Glaze Exotic Encounters

China Glaze Exotic Encounters is a fabulous muted medium teal creme.  The formula was a bit on the thin side for a creme, but was still relatively easy to apply.  I absolutely adore this shade!  It's just dark enough, but so dark that it cuts down on the color pop.
Shown is three coats of Exotic Encounters.

OPI DS Reflection

OPI DS Reflection is a jewel toned red scattered holographic, with flashes of gold.  The formula was rich and easy to apply.  I love this shade so much!  Everything about it is just dazzling!!
Shown is two coats of DS Reflection.

OPI Give Me the Moon

OPI Give Me the Moon is a soft grey with a slight lilac undertone and a light blue shimmer.  The formula was smooth and easy to apply.  This is one of my all time favorite shades!  It's such a delicate color, but the blue shimmer really makes it stand out!
Shown is three coats of Give Me the Moon.

You can find these and other great shades from a number of mainstream brands at the Beyond Polish storefront here.  I hope you enjoyed!

Wintery & Wispy

Hey everyone!  I'm sorry for my absence over the past several days.  Mr. NPW was injured last week, which resulted in a gash over his eye, and a significant portion of his cornea being scraped off.  So, I've been helping him recover and he's fine now.  Yay!
So back to blogging!!  It's been really cold here for the past week, unseasonably so for Georgia.  So I felt like doing wispy to match all the newly bare trees here.

I started off with two coats of Nail Rock Midnight Blue on my middle finger, and two coats of Creations by Lynda Barely There, followed by one coat of SV.  This beige holographic is actually a custom color that she created for me!  I love it!!!

I applied an extra coat of SV over Midnight Blue, and pressed my finger into my pot of Nail Rock flocking power.  I used a small brush to fluff off the excess powder.  I don't know why it's taken me this long to post a flocked mani here!  I adore the effect!

I am so crazy about the dandelion design from the Vivid Lacquer plate I recently reviewed here, that I couldn't wait to use it again!  I paired it with Color Club Beyond and even doubled up on my ring finger for more of a "blowing in the wind" look.

I wanted a delicate accent to rival the boldness of the flocking powder, so I again paired the plate with Color Club Beyond for the delicate chevron pattern.  I finished with one coat of SV.

I love the end result.  I also really like how grey Beyond looks over Barely There.  It's a simple, but cold looking combination.

I had to go out in the sun to see these awesome holos pop!

I hope you enjoyed today's mani!  I'm so happy to be back to blogging!!!

Happy Painting!

Slasher Flick

Hi everyone!  I'm always so excited for October - because that means a whole lot of scary movies are all over the TV lineup for Halloween!!  I'm a horror movie fanatic, so I thought I'd do a little slasher inspired mani today.

I started with two coats of Fire and Blood, followed by one coat of SV.  I love how vibrant this red is, and the red holographic glitters really make it pop!  I chose this one immediately because I knew how well it would stand out against the black and white I would be using.

I applied four pieces of striping tape to each nail in a random pattern.

Using a porous sponge, I applied a gradient using OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls and Sinful Colors Black on Black.  I immediately removed the tape, and finished with one coat of SV.

This is my first go at using black and white for a gradient, and I love the look of it!

I am so crazy about how well Fire and Blood stands out against the gradient!  It really reminds me of slashes!!

I had so much fun creating this mani.  I hope you enjoyed!  Happy Painting!

Vivid Lacquer Stamping Plates 06 and 15 Swatch & Review

Hi everyone!!  I have two awesome stamping plates from Vivid Lacquer for you today!!

The first plate is the 006 design.  I love the elements of this plate!

I paired Konad Special Black and Color Club Beyond over two coats of Sinful Colors Athens for this design.  I am so crazy about these little dandelion images!  And I love how well it work with the full nail design as well.  The images stamped cleanly and gave me absolutely no trouble at all!

The next plate is the 015 design.  How great is this one?!

I paired Konad Special Black over two coats of Dance Legend T-1000 for this design.  I just love these little music notes!  I think this might be the first time I've ever had a music note design on my nails!!  How did that happen!?  The images stamped perfectly!

This was my first experience with Vivid Lacquer plates, and I'm so happy with them!  I can't wait to try the other designs as well!!  You can find these and other great plates and polishes at the Vivid Lacquer storefront here, and be sure to check them out on Facebook for all of their latest info!

Celestial Cosmetics Swatch & Review

Hi everyone!  I have some great shades from Celestial Cosmetics for you today!

Sapphires of Tarth

Sapphires of Tarth is a multi-chrome that shifts from cyan, to blue, to purple.  The formula was smooth and easy to apply, but was a bit on the thin side.  The multi-chrome effect wasn't super strong here, but it's still a very pretty shade.
Shown is three coats of Sapphires of Tarth.

Mother of Dragons

Mother of Dragons is a multi-chrome that shifts from magenta, to orange, to gold.  The formula was smooth and easy to apply.  Again, the multi-chrome effect wasn't very strong.
Shown is two coats of Mother of Dragons.

High Garden

High Garden is a thermal crelly with holographic micro glitter that is lime when warm, and green when cold.  The formula was smooth and easy to apply, but was a bit on the thin side.  I absolutely adore this shade.  The thermal effect is so bold and so much fun to wear!
Shown is three coats of High Garden.

Little Finger

Little Finger is a thermal holographic that is blue when warm, and purple when cold.  The formula was smooth and easy to apply.  The thermal effect wasn't as strong in this one, but it's still gorgeous!
Shown is two coats of Little Finger.

Arya Stark

Arya Stark is a thermal holographic that is pink when warm, and purple when cold.  The formula was smooth and easy to apply.  You might notice the distinct lack of purple here.  I tried using cold water and even ice, but the purple never appeared for more than a second or two.
Shown is two coats of Arya Stark.

You can find these and other great Celestial Cosmetics shades at their storefront here, and at other online retailers such as Color4Nails.

Happy Painting!
