Hi everyone!  I have the Winter 2013 Collection from Urban Lacquer, which launches today!!

Board Games from Santa

Board Games from Santa is a clear coat loaded with micro & mini hexes in lime, magenta, and white.  The formula was smooth and easy to apply.  This is a total glitter bomb, so it's easily an opaque glitter!!  I really like this one a lot!  The colors work really well together!
Shown is two coats of Board Games from Santa.

Chimney Burn is a navy blue glass fleck shimmer that shifts to purple and orange.  The formula was a bit on the thin side, but was easy to apply.  I love a great multi-chrome, and the glass fleck really makes it spark!
Shown is three coats of Chimney Burn.

Extreme Mall Matte-ness

Extreme Mall Matte-ness is a clear coat loaded with multi-sized hexes and squares in red, green, white, light pink, and medium pink.  The formula was smooth and easy to apply, and the glitters spread out evenly across the nail.  I adore this shade!  I love to see all of the great red, white, and green glitters around the holidays, but the addition of the pinks really made it pop!
Shown is one coat of Extreme Mall Matte-ness over Sinful Colors Athens.

Glittery and Bright 2013

Glittery and Bright 2013 is a clear coat loaded with multi-sized hexes and dots in red, pink, silver, lavender, and gold.  The formula was smooth and easy to apply, and the glitters spread out evenly across the nail.  I really love this one as well!  All of those holo glitters catch the light so brilliantly!
Shown is one coat of Glittery and Bright 2013 over Sinful Colors Rise and Shine.

Lit Up Like the Tree

Lit Up Like the Tree is a clear coat loaded with multi-sized hexes and squares in silver and gold holographic.  The formula was smooth and easy to apply, and the glitters spread out evenly across the nail.  I love how sweet and delicate this one is!

Is there a rune for that?

Hi everyone!  For the past several weeks, I have been reading The Mortal Instruments series.  (And now I can't believe I have to wait until May for the newest and final installment.)  I really wanted to do a mani that was inspired by the books!  I still haven't had a chance to see the movie yet, mainly because I avoid movie theaters for, well, way too many reasons to list.
Part of this mani is a teaser preview!  Two of the shades I used are part of the upcoming Scofflaw Nail Varnish Winter 2014 Collection, which releases in January!!

I started off with two coats of Scofflaw Nail Varnish Ruff Tuff Creampuff on my index and pinky fingers, and two coats of OPI Skull & Glossbones on my middle and ring fingers.  I followed with one coat of SV.  I am so mad for Ruff Tuff Creampuff!  It has this really delicate peach shimmer that looks so gorgeous when the light hits it!!

I added one coat of Scofflaw Nail Varnish Happy Little Tree over Ruff Tuff Creampuff, and followed with one coat of SV.  Okay, how freaking awesome are those glitters?!  I'm definitely in love with this one!

Using a porous sponge, I created a subtle gradient on my middle and ring fingers with OPI Skull & Glossbones and OPI Stranger Tides.  I followed with one coat of SV.  It's so awesome how great these two cremes work together, since they're from the same collection and color palette..

I immediately thought of the run symbols from The Mortal Instruments as soon as I saw this Messy Mansion Lily Anna 08 stamping plate, so I paired it with Konad Special Black.  I followed with one coat of SV.

I liked this mani glossy, but I thought it would have more depth if it were mattified, so I added one coat of OPI Matte Top Coat.  *thud*

I love the matte look for this so much!!

I am so crazy about how well all of these polishes worked together!

I hope you enjoyed today's mani as much as I do!  Happy Painting!

Messy Mansion Stamping Plate Review

Hi everyone!  I have three awesome Messy Mansion stamping plates for you today!

Lily Anna 08

The Lily Anna 08 plate is a long rectangular plate that contains 12 full nail designs, and two long narrow patterned designs.  Each pattern was long and wide enough to fit my nails and then some!  (Which is pretty great.)  I had absolutely zero problems with applying any of the designs.  There was also a really great variety in patterns as well!
I have four of these patterns stamped with A England Fated Prince, Dragon, and St. George over OPI Stranger Tides.

MM14

The MM14 plate is a large round plate with four full nail designs, two half nail designs, and four singular designs, all with bird themes.  I didn't have any trouble during application.  I love the design variety here as well, while it stays under the same basic theme.
I have four of these patterns stamped with A England Lady of the Lake, Rose Bower, and St. George over A England Princess Tears.

MM18

The MM18 plate is a large round plate with four full nail designs, one long scrolling design, and six singular designs, all with a Parisian feel to them.  I didn't have any troubles during application.  I love the combination of bold and delicate patterns on this plate!
I have three of these patterns stamped with A England Rose Bower, and Briarwood over Revlon Apricot Nectar.

This was my first experience with Messy Mansion plates, and I am absolutely hooked on them now!  I can't wait to try more of their designs!!  You can find these and other great Messy Mansion stamping plates at their storefront here, or at their Etsy page here.  Be sure to check them out on Facebook for all of their updates and latest plates.
Happy Painting!

Candy Drops

Hi everyone!  Today's mani was designed by my four year old!  His school had a big Thanksgiving lunch last week, and he wanted to pick out my polishes for it.  (Awww!)

I started with two coats of KBShimmer White Noise on my index and pinky nails, two coats of OPI Alpine Snow on my ring finger, and two coats of Nicole by OPI I Lilac Gumdrops on my middle finger.

Using Zoya Mira with my dotting tools, I added a "candy drop" look, according to Evan.  I finished with one coat of SV.

He was so happy with the final result!!  I really loved that he picked White Noise for this one!  I adore the pastel glitters in the white base!

I hope you all enjoyed Evan's mani design!  Happy Painting!

Colors: KBShimmer White Noise, OPI Alpine Snow, Zoya Mira, Nicole by OPI I Lilac Gumdrops

Blood and Bones!

Blood and Bones! is a clear coat loaded with multi-sized hexes, dots, and diamonds in white, black, and red holographic, as well as large white skull & crossbones glitters.  The formula was smooth and easy to apply, and the glitters spread out evenly across the nail.  I did have to do some fishing for the skulls, but that's to be expected.  I really love this one!  The glitters work so well together and are pretty but edgy!
Shown is one coat of Blood and Bones! over OPI Stranger Tides.

Freak Show

Freak Show is an off-white crelly loaded with multi-sized hexes in blue and green neon.  The formula was smooth and easy to apply.  I love this shade!!  The neons are such a great accent to the base color, and give it just the right pop!
