Happy New Year!!!

Hi everyone!!  I really wanted to do something fun for my New Year's Eve mani this year, so I modeled my design after the Atlanta skyline!

Atlanta is, and will always be, home to me.  It's such a beautiful city.

I started off with two coats of Girly Bits Bird is the Word, followed by one coat of SV.

I added a subtle gradient with Girly Bits Well Isn't That Special.

I used my striping brush with Sinful Colors Black on Black and added the building formations.

I detailed my design by added small dotted windows with Kiss Yellow, and top lit the buildings with Girly Bits Get Weaponized.

I also fished out some glitters from KBShimmer Kringle All the Way for a few lights and the ball drop.  (Of course, in Atlanta we have a huge peach drop instead of a ball, but you get the idea.)

Finally, I used Kiss Silver Glitter for a delicate fireworks blast.  I finished with one coat of SV.

I had so much fun creating this, and I can't wait to ring in the new year with my friends and family!  I hope you all have a safe and fun New Year's Eve as well!!

Happy New Year!!!!

Shabby Apple Lighthouse Dress Review

Hi everyone!  I recently had the opportunity to try this lovely little vintage Shabby Apple dress!

This sweet linen dress is a beautiful bitter yellow with white detailing.  It is so comfortable and so feminine!  The empire waist and front pleats are the perfect accent to the soft white bow belt.

It fits really well, but is a little tight on me through the bust.  (But I'm a busty girl, so it happens.)  I think it would look so great with a cropped cardigan too!

I am so looking forward to spring so I can wear this!  This has been my first experience with Shabby Apple - and it's safe to say that I am totally hooked now!!
Be sure to follow Shabby Apple on Instagram and like them on Facebook for their most up-to-date news!

Black & White Skittles

Hi everyone!  It occurred to me that I haven't done a full black and white mani on the blog before.  How weird is that?!

I used Color Secrets Snow White and Sinful Colors Black on Black for all of my nails.
For my thumb nail, I started off with two coats of Snow White, followed by one coat of SV.  Next, I used my Vynail chevron decals and applied one coat of Black on Black.  I removed the decal guides and finished with one coat of SV.

For my index finger, I paired Konad Special Black with Bundle Monster plate BM-322 for the houndstooth design, followed by one coat of SV.

For my middle finger, I taped off the upper half of my nail and applied one coat of Black on Black.  I used my large and medium sized dotting tools for my interlocking dots look.  I followed with one coat of SV.

For my ring finger, I really wanted more of a marble look for my water marble pattern, so I used a more swirling pattern than I usually do.  I followed with one coat of SV.

For my pinky, I applied my striping tape, and added one coat of Black on Black.  I removed my tape immediately and finished with one coat of SV.

I had so much fun creating this design!  I hope you enjoyed!
Happy Painting!!

Visions of Sugarplums

Hi everyone!  This is my final holiday mani for the year.  This is what I actually wore for Christmas!

I started off with two coats of Contrary Polish Play Me.  I love this light smokey purple.  The subtle teal shimmer in it is so lovely!

I added a gradient using Color Club Jingle Jangle that I extended to the base of my nails, with the exception of my ring finger.

I paired A England Sleeping Palace with Bundle Monster plate BM-306 for the candy pattern on my ring finger.

I then paired Sleeping Palace again with Konad QA-1 for the singular candies on my other nails.  I finished with one coat of SV.

I absolutely love the end result!

For such a muted tone mani, there are so many different shades for the light to pull out.

The teal shimmer is soft and sweet, and the glitters sparkle so well ... not to mention the awesome hint of holo in the stamping.  This was the exact effect I was after!

I really hope you all enjoyed!  Happy Painting!

Candy Striped

Hi everyone!  Happy Christmas Eve!!  My little boys go crazy for candy canes every year, and their favorites are all of the funky colored ones.  So, I thought I'd create my own fun skittle candy striped mani!

I started off with two coats of, from thumb to pinky, Zoya Shelby, Pop Nail Glam Tangerine Taste, Essie First Timer, China Glaze For Audrey, and Lime Crime Lavendairy.  I followed with one coat of SV.

I really wanted the striped to look a little random, so I focused on cutting my scotch tape strips in different sizes.

Once my tape was in place, I added one coat over each nail and removed the tape immediately.

The topper shades are, from thumb to pinky, Lime Crime Parfait Day, Lime Crime Peaches ♥ Cream, Essie Navigate Her, Lime Crime Once in a Blue Mousse, and Essie Nice is Nice.  I finished with one coat of SV.

I had a lot of fun creating this, and I love the end result.  It was kind of liberating to not want perfectly sized stripes for a change!

I think my favorite combo of all is my index finger, which was kind of surprising!  I love the way these two soft orange shades work together!
I hope you all enjoyed!  Have a Merry Christmas!
Happy Painting!

Christmas Grunge

Hi everyone!!  I felt like going with something a little different for a holiday mani today!!

I started off with two coats of OPI All I Want for Christmas (is OPI), followed by one coat of SV.

Using the syrup method, I added a grungy gradient look with China Glaze Keepin' It Teal, followed by one coat of SV.

I fished out some glitters from OPI I Snow You Love Me and placed them in a Christmas tree pattern on my ring finger, and then at the tops of my other nails.  I finished with one coat of SV to seal the glitters.

I love the end result!  It's definitely a fun and non-traditional look for the holidays.

I actually did this design for a pedi I wore to a Christmas party a couple of weeks ago.  I liked it so much that I knew I had to try it on my nails.

I hope you enjoyed!  Happy Painting!

Glam Polish Swatch & Review Pt. 3

Hi everyone!!  I have five awesome Glam Polish shades for you today!!

Book of Shadows

Book of Shadows is a deep blue scattered holographic with multi-sized holographic blue hexes.  The formula was smooth and easy to apply.  This shade is absolutely stunning!!  I was really surprised at how well the hexes looked in this one!  I love it!
Shown is two coats of Book of Shadows.

Glimmer

Glimmer is a clear coat loaded with multi-sized & multi-shaped iridescent glitters and holographic dust.  The formula was smooth and easy to apply.  I'm such a sucker for iridescent glitters, and this one definitely doesn't disappoint.
Shown is one coat of Glimmer over Sally Hansen New Wave Blue.

I was really curious to see how Glimmer would look mattified!

I love it!!  The iridescent glitters pop so well!

Rosetta

Rosetta is a bright magenta with a silvery purple shimmer.  It actually dries with a matte finish on it's own as well.  The formula was smooth and easy to apply.  I love how bright and fun this shade is!
Shown is two coats of Rosetta.

Rosetta will show you a whole new speed with top coat!

Silvermist

Silvermist is a medium blue with a strong silver shimmer.  This one dries with a matte finish as well.  The formula was smooth and easy to apply.  I love how shimmery this one is!
Shown is two coats of Silvermist.

The addition of top coat on this one will give you a bit more shine, of course, but the shimmer is so strong that it's a little difficult to see in certain lighting.

Tempestarii

Tempestarii is a deep purple scattered holographic loaded with micro holographic glitter.  The formula was smooth and easy to apply.  Oh. My. Gosh.  This is AMAZING!!!  I definitely have a new favorite purple!!
Shown is two coats of Tempestarii.
