Gato Negro

Hi everyone!  I have some awesome new black cat water decals from Born Pretty Store, so I decided to have a little fun with them!

I started off with three coats of Zoya Neely, followed by one coat of SV.

Following the instructions on the package, I applied my water decals and sealed them with one coat of SV.

I used my striping tape for a line burst design and applied one coat of Zoya London.

I didn't use top coat over it since it is a texture coat polish and I really wanted that to shine.

I love the way these muted shades work together, and how well they go with the little black cats!

Every time I use water decals, I like them more and more!  They're always such fun to wear!

You can find these and other great decal designs at Born Pretty Store.  Don't forget to use my coupon code for 10% off of your order: DQL91
I hope you enjoyed!  Happy Painting!

  2. I am so in love with this manicure! I just put on Neely and I'm going to try this with Vespa since I don't have London. Love, love, LOVE!

  3. What kind of striping tape do you use? I assume the base color needs to be completely dry first as well.

    1. I have several different brands, and they're all the same. I've never met a striping tape I didn't like! Lol! The key is to top coat your base color, and then make sure that is dry before you apply your tape. Then remove the tape immediately after your top color. Give that a little time to dry before you apply your final top coat to avoid drag marks.

  7. I love this! It's absolutely stunning and adorable to me! Thank you for sharing and inspiring me to revisit the water decals (haven't used in years... many) and the same with taping! I used to tape when I was a teen - my mom used to laugh - so glad that after all these years - there are many, many others like me :-)

  9. I have tried water decals but always end up with the cut edge of the decal being obvious, even after top coating twice. I can not see any edges on your manicure. What am I doing wrong!?
