Hi everyone! I have been so excited to take part in the first nail art challenge with The Lacquer Legion. Today's theme is "Reinvention". I spent a pretty significant amount of time thinking about that. I went over some symbolism in my head, and then I realized that I go with symbolism too much. I do that. I play favorites with things like color, finishes, and even techniques.
So, for my reinvention mani, I decided to get outside of my own box for a change.
I started off with two coats of Zoya Wednesday, followed by one coat of SV.
I wanted to add a bit of a tie-dye gradient look. I used a basic wedge makeup sponge, dipped it in water, and squeezed out the excess. I then dabbed on spots of Zoya Wednesday, Zoya Robyn, and Zoya Mira onto the sponge. This is the first time I have used this technique for a gradient. I followed again with one coat of SV.
Something else I avoid is the crackle look. It's never been something I've been too crazy about per se, but I need to focus more on thinking of what everyone else might like to see here, and not so much on my own favorites.
I added one full coat of Sinful Colors Black Crackle on my ring fingers, and followed with SV.
I cut a heart shape from a piece of Scotch tape, placed it over my middle finger, and added one coat of Black Crackle. I finished with one coat of SV.
I love the end result! I cannot believe it took this long for me to use the damp sponging for a gradient, because I loved doing it! And I'm even wild about how the crackle came out!
This has been such a fun challenge for me! I'm really looking forward to taking part in more of The Lacquer Legion challenges!
I hope you enjoyed! Happy Painting!
This is GORGEOUS!
