Hi everyone. Last year, the beauty community lost one of it's most treasured members,
When I asked the polish community to ban together to honor her, I never could have imagined the massive display of love and support for Talia and her family. The idea behind it was very simple: Mint Manis. Talia's last Instagram posting was that of a mint manicure. Literally thousands of you participated. I could not believe it. But it didn't stop there. Indie makers designed polish shades inspired by Talia to raise money for children's cancer research. That is just huge!! Additionally, there is now a section called Mint Mani Campaign on Talia's site.
One year has passed, and I am still seeing Mint Manis for Talia pop up. That moves me beyond words. So, once again, I'm wearing mint to honor the legacy of Talia Joy. Thank you all again, for taking part last year. I know I'll be seeing more mint manis today as well.
Last years mani was really over the top stylistically, so this year I really wanted to go with something subtle to let the mint speak for itself. I started off with two coats of Pop Nail Glam Mint Magic, which was the same shade that Talia was wearing in her photo. I have been waiting to use this shade for about eleven months, knowing today would be the right day to finally open it.
I used the dry brush gradient method with China Glaze Snow Globe for my iridescent gradient look. I followed with one coat of SV. I really love the ethereal look the iridescent glitters gave this.
To give the glitters a little more pop, I also added one coat of OPI Matte Top Coat.
I just love mattified glitters!
I really hope you enjoyed today's mani, and the thoughts behind it as well. Again, to all of those who showed their support last year, to those showing their support again this year, and to those of you who are just joining in on the Mint Mani Movement, thank you from the bottom of my heart for joining me on this. While the reason behind doing this was nothing short of heartbreaking, it will always be one of my most cherished blogging moments, thanks to all of your kind and generous hearts.
