Mosaic Baubles

Hi everyone!  Today I thought I'd try my hand at the mosaic technique you might have seen popping up lately.  To be honest, I have no idea where this technique originated - so if you know, please let me know in the comments below!!

Dance Legend

I started off with two coats of Dance Legend Grey Britain, and two coats of Dance Legend Cetraria on my ring finger.

I applied a third thinner coat, and, while it was still wet, I used the polish brush from the contrasting color to place some dots.

With a wet base coat, the dotted on polish spread out instead of staying so uniformed.  I finished with one coat of SV.

I absolutely love the end result.  This was actually a lot of fun to create, and I really liked the randomness of it all.
I hope you enjoyed!  Happy Painting!

  2. Fun idea! I like the subtlety of the colors you chose... Makes it look like a good option for someone like myself who's completely unadventurous in art :)

  3. I like how soft these are! The two colors look great together.

  5. Up Close And Polished did it first and called it a Drip & Spread Lava Lamp manicure. Her blog is marked private now, but the video is still available: http://youtu.be/oLNnt3nK2oI
