Something Sunny

Hi everyone!  I loved the Barielle shades that I showed you yesterday so much that I felt like having a little fun with them.  With all of the snowy mess we've had here for the past couple of days, I wanted to see something on the sunny side, so here's what I came up with.

Gradient Nail Art

I started off with three coats of Barielle Banana Drop and two coats of Peach Pop on my ring finger, followed by SV.
And then I apparently forgot to take step by step pictures for some reason.  I forgot.  You ever forget?  Happened to me.

Nail Art

For my ring finger, I paired my dotting tools with Barielle Mint Ice Cream Cone and Banana Drop for a little variation of a strawberry pattern.

Nail Art

I used a damp wedge sponge with Banana Drop and Peach Pop to create my gradient look.
I still cannot believe it took me this long to use this method for gradients.  It's so much faster, easier, and the clean up is less as well!  (So you might be seeing a healthy amount of gradients over the next few weeks.  Don't say I didn't warn you!!)

Nail Art

Finally, I paired one of my larger dotting tools with Mint Ice Cream Cone for some polka dots over the gradient.

Nail Art

I love the way these three pastels work together!  I had so much fun creating this, and it was a definite cheer up from the dreary weather!
I hope you enjoyed!  Happy Painting!

Barielle Shades and Product Swatch & Review

Hi everyone!  I have three awesome Barielle shades for you today, as well as three of their awesome nail & skin care products!  I ended up liking these shades so much that I used them for a bit of nail art that will be up tomorrow!!

Banana Drop

Banana Drop is a soft yellow creme.  The formula was relatively easy to apply, but was a little bit streaky for the first two coats.  (But this is pretty typical of most yellow shades.)  I love this shade to pieces!  I am so crazy about baby yellows right now, and this was a fast favorite.
Shown is three coats of Banana Drop.

Mint Ice Cream Cone

Mint Ice Cream Cone is a pale green creme.  The formula was smooth and easy to apply.  To me this one leans a bit more towards pistachio than mint, but that's just my opinion.  No matter though, because I am just crazy about this shade!
Shown is two coats of Mint Ice Cream Cone.

Peach Pop

Peach Pop is a peachy pink creme.  The formula was smooth and easy to apply.  I adore this color!  It's not overly girly, but it's still really sweet - and that's a huge plus for me!
Shown is two coats of Peach Pop.

I also had the opportunity to try three of their nail & skincare products!!  This is my first time trying any of their non-polish products, so I was really excited to see how they would work for me.

The Extra Gentle Cuticle Minimizer Gel is awesome!  I had a couple of rougher spots on the cuticles on my right hand and this smoothed them out immediately, and left my skin feeling really soft.  It has a light fresh scent that isn't overpowering.
The Nail Strengthener Cream has a bit of a whipped consistency, so it went on really easy and my skin drank is up at once!  It didn't leave my nails feeling greasy either, which is a major plus!  I love the light smell that has a bit of a sweetness to it too!
The 60 Second Mani-Pedi Scrub is great!  The scrub itself was actually more gentle than I thought it would be.  My hands felt amazing after using it!  And the mandarin scent isn't too citrusy, which was perfect for me!

I know how much time we can spend on nail and skincare.  All of these were quick uses, so I didn't need to spend a heap of time on getting my hands and nails to look and feel great!

You can find these and other great Barielle shades and products at their storefront here.
I hope you enjoyed!  Happy Painting!

American as Apple Pie

Nicole by OPI Carrie Underwood Collection

American as Apple Pie is a cherry red creme with a very subtle shimmer.  The formula was smooth and easy to apply.  This is such a great bold red, and the shimmer looks really great when the light hits it.  This shade also dried remarkably quickly!

Get Carrie'd Away

Nicole by OPI Carrie Underwood Collection

Get Carrie'd Away is a clear coat loaded with gold micro glitter.  The formula was smooth and easy to apply.  I didn't think I would like this one much, since gold usually looks so blah on me, but I really adore this shade!  The gold is more delicate and the sparkle is so pretty!
Shown is two coats of Get Carrie'd Away.

Lips are Dripping Honey

Nicole by OPI Carrie Underwood Collection

Lips are Dripping Honey is a clear coat loaded with multi-sized holographic hexes in pink and gold.  The formula was smooth and easy to apply, and the glitters spread out evenly across the nail.  I love how well the light catches the glitters in this one!
Shown is one coat of Lips are Dripping Honey over Sing You Like a Bee.

Nicole by OPI Carrie Underwood Collection

Love My Pups

Nicole by OPI Carrie Underwood Collection

Love My Pups is a pale pink crelly.  The formula was relatively easy to apply, but was a bit thin and patchy, even for a crelly.  I do love how delicate this shade is though.
Shown is three coats of Love My Pups.

Nicole by OPI Carrie Underwood Collection

Party Bus

Nicole by OPI Carrie Underwood Collection

Party Bus is a clear coat loaded with multi-sized silver holographic hexes and flowers.  The formula was smooth and easy to apply, and the glitters spread out evenly across the nail.  I did have to do some fishing for the flower glitters though, but that's so be expected.  I didn't think I would like this one as much as I do.  It's such a great accent though!
Shown is one coat of Party Bus over Love My Pups.

Delush Polish Valentine's Day 2014 Collection Swatch & Review

Hi everyone!  It always makes me so excited to have the chance to try out an indie brand for the first time, so I jumped at the chance to review the Valentine's Day 2014 Collection from Delush Polish.

Delush Polish Valentine's Day 2014

Je Ne Sais Quoi

Delush Polish Valentine's Day 2014

Je Ne Sais Quoi is a soft white crelly, with a hint of a lilac undertone, loaded with multi-sized hexes and squares in rose metallic and grey satin.  The formula was smooth and easy to apply.  I absolutely LOVE this shade!  I'm crazy about how delicate it looks!
Shown is three coats of Je Ne Sais Quoi.

Delush Polish Valentine's Day 2014

Love Me Lights Out

Delush Polish Valentine's Day 2014

Love Me Lights Out is a crisp white crelly loaded with multi-sized hexes, dots, and stars in hot pink, fuchsia, purple, green, and gold.  The formula was smooth and easy to apply, but it is a little more on the opaque side for a crelly - so it's a little easy for the undercoat glitters to hide.  You might notice a distinct lack of pink stars on my nails.  Unfortunately, I had a lot of trouble getting any of them to come out of the bottle.  Delush is adding more stars to the batches of this though, so it should be easier for you.  I like this one a lot!  It kind of gave me a romantic Mardi Gras feel - which is a description I never thought I'd be able to use!
Shown is three coats of Love Me Lights Out.

Delush Polish Valentine's Day 2014

Make Me Blush

Delush Polish Valentine's Day 2014

Make Me Blush is a very soft baby pink creme with a subtle shimmer.  The formula was easy to apply, but was a tiny bit streaky during the first two coats.  The third coat balanced it out perfectly though.  I don't think I have any pinks that are this pale, so of course I immediately adored it!
Shown is three coats of Make Me Blush.

Delush Polish Valentine's Day 2014

Delush Polish orders also come with these awesome scratch off cards!  I freaking love this idea!!!  I was so stoked to scratch mine off, and then even more excited to see that I get to name a Delush shade!  How fab is that?!

I think it's safe to say that my first experience with Delush Polish was a great one!  You can find these and other great Delush Polish shades at their storefront here, and be sure to check them out on Facebook for all of their latest updates and collections!
Happy Painting!
