Hair Tips & Tricks:
It takes too long to dry and style my hair!!
Sometimes, when you've got limited time, getting your hair dried and styled can seem like a pain. It doesn't have to be! As soon as you get out of the shower, towel off your hair to get some of the excess water out. If you use any kind of leave-in treatment, go ahead and apply it. Next, break out your blow dryer and start drying, but only focus on the roots. Once all of the hair closest to your head is relatively dry, stop! Now, get ready!! Do your make-up, brush your teeth, and get dressed & accessorized! Now it's time to finish your hair! Use the blow dryer on the rest of your hair. It'll dry super fast now, so you have plenty of time to style with ease! Plus, we all know that our perfectly done hair just doesn't look quite right until we look just the way we want to! And always remember that if you're using any kinds of styling brushes with your blow dryer, it's a useless efforts unless your hair is almost completely dry!
My flat iron is destroying my hair!!!
Flat irons are easy to use, fast, and effective. But they're also destructive. Even if you use a flat iron spray, they still do a lot of damage to your hair -- no big secret, right? Right. But, there is an easy and excellent alternative! And it's even a cheap one!!! The easiest brushes to use for this are flat paddle brushes, and fat round brushes. After you follow the steps for getting your hair dry, (right above this post), grab your paddle brush. Take your hair in sections and use the brush with your blow dryer to dry your hair straight. If you have difficult waves, grab your fat round brush. Make sure to use one that has a metal core. The heat from the blow dryer will turn your brush into kind of a hot roller when you use them together. You can keep your ends straight, or use this to flip your ends out or flip them under. For this, start spinning your brush in the direction you want to flip as soon as your dryer and brush reach the end of your strands.
Make-up Tips & Tricks:
My eyelashes are so blah!!!
If you were born with beautiful lashes that naturally curl and make your eyes pop ... good for you. But for the rest of us, there is a solution!!! The best time to curl your lashes is after you've shadowed and before you line your eyes. I always use an eyelash curler that has the spring attachment. I never have much luck with ones that don't have it. Grab your eyelash curler and your blow dryer. Use the blow dryer on your eyelash curler for about 7- 10 seconds. Make sure you don't get the metal piece on the top of the curler too hot!! While it's still warm, curl those lashes!! If you see a kink in your lashes, don't panic - and don't mess with it! Get your eyes lined, then apply two coats of your favorite mascara. Your lashes will absolutely POP now - and the kink will have relaxed for perfectly curled lashes! Always remember, if you curl them and then use your mascara, the kink is there to stay! Always give your lashes time to relax!!!!
I can't wear loose powder!! What can I do??
There are a ton of reasons that some of us beauties can't wear, or don't want to wear loose powder. From asthma to fine lines for powder to settle into - no matter, there are solutions. Take a couple drops of your foundation on your fingers, and mix it in with your favorite daily moisturizer. This will keep your complexion even and balanced, while keeping your skin hydrated. If fine lines are your problem, then it's no problem. The powders with the best coverage are mineral powders, but they are terrible when it comes to severely settling into any lines you might have, like smile lines. As soon as you've applied your powder, take a Q-Tip, preferably one with a pointed tip, and gently run it along your lines. Then, with the fat end of the Q-Tip, very lightly blend the powder along the line to smooth it out. This will stop any powder from drifting into any lines during the day!
My eye shadow & liner gets a little crazy when I try to do my outer corners!!!
This happens a lot, and usually due to uneven lighting when applying your make-up. As always, a simple fix from the greatest thing in the world ..... Scotch Tape! Use a strip of scotch tape on the outer corners of your eyes, after sticking it to your shirt so it won't mess with your facial make-up. This will help you have a nice crisp, even line with your shadow & liner!
My lips are so dry!!!
Yeah, I know - it happens. Lip balm all you like, chances are, your dry lips are gonna make your gloss & lipstick look like crap. Take a soft bristled toothbrush - I prefer mechanical, but it doesn't matter - and run it under the water. Then, gently massage your lips with it, in circular motions. Afterwards, apply your favorite balm!! All the dry skin will be gone, and your lips will look soooooo pink and plump!!! Hooray!!!
