Nicole by OPI Celeb-Bitties Kardashian Kolor Minis Review

Hi ladies!  Today I have the first half of the new Nicole by OPI Kardashian Kolor Minis:

Celeb-Bitties!

I may not be able to name any of the Kardashians, or tell you anything about them, but I know the polishes by heart!!!

First up is All Kendall-ed Up, a dynamite bright pink creme.

The application for this one was excellent, very smooth and seamless!  I did end up needing to use thee coats, as I still had a few streaky areas after the first two.  I followed with one cost of SV.
I am krazy about this color!  (See what I did there? *smirk*)  It's so bright and summery and just screams, "Look at me!!!"

Before taking off All Kendall-ed Up, I decided to go ahead and apply Wear Something Spar-Kylie.  It's a clear coat with beautiful pink micro glitter.

These two polishes work really well together!  The combination really pops!  Wear Something Spar-Kylie is a total glitter bomb, so I only needed one coat, that I followed with one coat of SV.

Next up is Kim-Pletely in Love, a delicate light pink creme, with a subtle light blue shimmer.

The blue shimmer in this one really surprised me!  It wasn't too visible in the bottle, and unfortunately it was super difficult to capture in the photos!!  I needed to apply three coats of this for a fully opaque finish, and then I followed with one coat of SV.  The formula is fantastic ... for a color this light, the coverage and finish is brilliant!

Finally, we have Sealed with a Kris, a fiery red creme.
This one was actually my least favorite in the package, but turned out to be my absolute number one favorite!!!  Isn't it funny when that happens!?

If you're thinking this polish looks streaky, you're wrong!  This one is so super shiny, that it's actually picking up the reflection of the clouds!  LOVE IT!!!

I only needed two coats of Sealed with a Kris, and followed it with one coat of SV.  The application for this one was perfect!  Great coverage, smooth finish, and mega shine!

Just to give you an idea of what it looks like with no reflections, here is an indoor shot:

While I might not know a thing about the Kardashians, I am over the moon with these polishes!  I can't wait to try the second set of the Kardashian Kolor Minis, Sophisti-Cuties!

What are your thoughts on collections like these?  Do celebrity collections influence your decision to buy at all?  Let me know!

I hope you enjoy!

Happy Painting!

Sit Down, Look Pretty, and Sparkle

So tonight I was kinda on the fence about what to do with my nails.  So, I actually asked the hubby what I should do!  For those of you who haven't seen him ... Here's my husband, Sean!!

I know, awww ... right?!  He asked me to do something light with sparkly tips.  (We have a secret meaning for the word "sparkle", so that certain sarcastic banter between us will be kid friendly!)

I grabbed three of my MANY untrieds tonight, starting with Zoya Marley, a very pretty pale lilac with a very subtle silvery shimmer.  This is just one coat of Marley with no topcoat.

For some added sparkle, I used two coats of Nicole by OPI Count on Me.  It's a really pretty lilac shimmer, with shines of blue.  I used one coat of SV over the two coats.

For my accent nail, I went with Butter London The Black Knight - an awesome black jelly loaded with multicolored micro glitter.  I used two coats, followed by one coat of Wicked Fast.

I taped off and used The Black Knight for the sparkly tips, as requested!!  I finished off my mani with a coat of Wicked Fast.

Sean was really happy with the end result!  I like the way the colors contrast and compliment all at the same time!  This was a quick and easy mani for a very tired girl!  I hope you enjoy this one, and all of the untried colors!  Happy Painting!

Rainbow Rows

Sometimes, a picture can affect me so strongly, that it will actually inspire a new mani! -- Come on, I didn't say it had to be classy or profound!!!

You know you laughed.

I started by using my striping brush to create the rainbow stripes - yes, even indigo! - down my nails.  I followed with a quick coat of SV.

Next, I cut small strips of scotch tape, and taped off the two sections on each nail.  (I decided to make two on each nail because my husband and I seem to have a habit of always seeing double rainbows!  I know ... awww!)

After I finished the taping, I applied one generous coat of black.

I finished with one coat of Cult Nails Wicked Fast top coat.  This was my first experience using Wicked Fast.  And, I think it is safe to say that I am now addicted to it!  It has such a beautiful glass finish!  And it's definitely not just a clever name!  It dried ridiculously fast!!!  I was completely loyal to my SV top coat, but Wicked Fast just blew it out of the water!!!

I wanted to try a little something different on my right hand, so I taped off the tip only, then used black to create a fun rainbow french tip!

Colors: Essie - Ups, Nicole by OPI - Nicole's Fave, Sally Hansen - Mellow Yellow 360, Misa - The Grass is Greener on my Side, China Glaze - First Mate, Color Club - Blue-Topia, Wet n Wild - On a Trip, Wet n Wild - Ebony Hates Chris

This was a lot of fun to create, and honestly didn't really take very long at all!  I hope you enjoy it!!!!  Happy Painting ladies!

Pleasant Hooters

Colors: OPI Lincoln Park After Dark, Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow 360, Nicole by OPI Nicole's Fave, Zoya Yara, Zoya Gemma, Sally Hansen The Real Teal, OPI Mermaid's Tears, Essie Coat Azure, Ulta Mint Condition, OPI Planks a Lot, Essie Nice is Nice, China Glaze Flying Dragon, Sally Hansen Lively Lilac

I decided to try my hand at these cute little owls tonight!  They were actually very quick and easy to create!  I used a strip of scotch tape on the top to create the half moon effect, and used the darker selection from my color combinations to create the owl bodies.  Next, I took the lighter complimenting shade and created the owl tummies.  I used my larger dotting tool to create the eyes and spots on the owls.  I used the small dotting tool for their pupils and their beaks.  I finished with a coat of SV!  For my left hand, I used the same design, but reversed the color order!

This is one of the funniest manicures I've done.  I giggle every time I look at my fingers!  The cross-eyed owls are my favorites!  I hope you enjoy this one!  I know I do!!!!  Happy Painting!!!!!!

Leopard with a Dash of Pink!

Colors: Milani Digital, Nicole by OPI Pink About It

It's Pink Wednesday!  HOORAY!!  Today, I felt like we needed something a little "wild".  I used Digital for the base color, which is a beautiful pink holo!  It's so nice and sparkly!  Then I used my Red Angel plate RA-107 for the leopard spots with Pink About It.  I topped it off with a coat of SV.  I love leopard, and I love pink things that have no business being pink, if that makes sense!!  Happy Painting everyone!!!

Madly in lust with Hot Purple

When it comes to lacquers, purple has always been my "go to" shade.  But now, I have a "go to" purple.  I mean, come on ... look at this!!!!

This little gem is New York Summer 'Hot Purple'.  Is this not the most amazingly luscious purple jelly EVER?!?!

The thing that I find to make it so very unique is that light will give the tips of your nails the appearance of a slightly bluer shade.  (This would have been much more easily illustrated yesterday, prior to the finger nail homicide, but such is life.)

And, of course, this truly royal shade would not be complete without a crown, thanks to Nicole's Silverella and Red Angel plate RA-119.  I realize this is so not my normal use of nail art, but, to be honest ... I didn't want to take anything away from the magic that is this color!

Gingerbread Man Cookies

Colors: Nicole by OPI Disco Dolls, OPI Planks a Lot, Milani Dress Maker

Another sweet mani for today!  I loved using Disco Dolls for the gingerbread cookie!  It's so sparkly and even has red and green glitter mixed in!!  After two coats, I applied one coat of Seche Vite, since I would be using tape for the next step.  (Glitters and tape don't often work well together without a top coat buffer!)  If you haven't tried Dress Maker yet, I highly recommend it.  It's such a nice soft green with a slight shimmer that really reminds me of frosting!  I created the fun lines of frosting by cutting a piece of scotch tape in half with my zig zag scissors and then placing both pieces on my nails, leaving a small even space in between.  Since Dress Maker is so light and Disco Dolls is a rather dark glitter, I used three coats.  After removing the tape, I used my dotting tool with Planks a Lot to create the gum drop buttons.  I used Poshe for the final top coat!  I hope you enjoy it!  Happy painting!!!

In-blu-ential bubbling

Colors: Ulta Bam-blue-zled, Pure Ice Strapless, Nails Inc. Connaught Square, Color Club Beyond the Mistletoe, Color Club Holiday Splendor, Nicole by OPI Kendall on the Katwalk, China Glaze First Mate

This one is especially for Evan, my two year old!  His favorite color is blue, and he loves bubbles and basically anything circular!!  So, just for him, I thought I'd have a little fun with my dotting tool!  (I know it's green, but I had to throw in a little holiday splendor too!  It's such an amazing color!)  I can't wait to show Evan tomorrow morning!  He's my biggest mani fan!  He always grabs my hand and says, "Ooooh!  Pwetty!  I lobb it!"  I enjoyed doing this one a lot, and I hope you all think it's something breezy and fun!
